1973rif. 31303Greenwich CT: New York Graphic Society Ltd. Fine in Near Fine dj. 2nd printing. Hardcover. a very nice copy of a book that notoriously does not wear well especially the dust jacket which in this instance has only some minor edgewear and a few surface-scratches on the rear panel. B&W photographs A detailed extensively illustrated chronicle of Berkeley's film and stage work published when he was still alive to enjoy it and able to dedicate the book sweetly to his wife Etta. His sixth and last wife if you must know: B.B. was a heavy drinker and not the easiest guy to live or work with. The Foreword is by Ruby Keeler who danced for Berkeley in four of his most famous films -- 42ND STREET GOLD DIGGERS OF 1933 FOOTLIGHT PARADE and DAMES -- and starred in the 1971 Broadway revival of "No No Nanette" for which he was "production supervisor" a largely honorary role. He was originally hired to direct and choreograph the show but was then in his seventies and had been largely inactive since the mid-1950s and wasn't up to the demands of the job. NOTE that additional postage charges will be assessed for international shipping of this oversized and heavy book; if this concerns you please contact us for a shipping quote before placing your order. . 1973.
