1932ref. 9726This is an early reprint edition of the classic dystopian novel "BRAVE NEW WORLD" by Aldous Huxley with its original dust jacket. 1932; The Sun Dial Press; New York. The dust jacket mimics that of the first American edition published by Doubleday The Sun Dial Press operated as an imprint and subsidiary used primarily by Doubleday to release cheaper popular fiction reprints. The book envisions a futuristic World State where citizens are environmentally engineered into a rigid caste system. To maintain absolute stability and forced "happiness" individuality free will and natural reproduction are eliminated leaving society highly vulnerable to state control and consumerism. The dust jacket comes with a clear protective sleeve not shown. Condition: Soiling/mildew to the front and back covers. The top-right corner of the front cover is damaged. 3/4" cloth tear at the bottom edge of the front board; tiny cloth tear at the bottom edge of the rear board. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned and mostly clean with occasional mild foxing here and there; the last 6 pages including the rear pastedown have a small stain at the lower-outer corner. The book has a light musty odor. A perfectly fine reading copy with nice pages though in overall Fair condition only. The dust jacket has bits of paper missing at the top and bottom edges of the covers and spine as well as at the flap creases; tanning to the covers and spine.overall the dust jacket is in Fair condition.
