Good copy some foxing at the end. Rare. This royalist pamphlet attributed to Guillaume Faugier (1795–1874) is a polemical response to liberal author Charles Durand's denunciations of the White Terror of 1815 in southern France. Writing under the initials “M. F. ” Faugier accuses his opponents of calumny and exaggeration portraying the royalist violence as justified defense of monarchy and religion. A key testimony to the heated ideological battles and conflicting memories surrounding the Revolution the Hundred Days and the White Terror in Nîmes and Avignon. REF BOUTIQUE
