1524réf. 7312Valencia 1524. Hardcover Tapa dura. 320x220mm. 12½x8¾". Manuscrito.

1500réf. 007113Spain 1500. No Binding. Very Good. A well-preserved vellum leaf from a late medieval Iberian Gradual of Antiphonal written in a clear Gothic textura hand with square neumes on four-line red staves. The text is taken from the Passion narrative of Christ in Gethsemane including the phrases "Vigilate et orate ut non intretis in tentationem" and "Pater mi: si possibile est transeat a me calix iste" identifying it as part of the Holy Week liturgy very likely Maundy Thursday or the Tenebrae offices. Recto and verso each contain six lines of text and music. The script shows the characteristic angularity and compressed minims associated with late 15th-century Castillian or Aragonese monastic production. The musical notation is composed of uniform square notes in dark brown ink the staves ruled in red. Margins generous indicating the leaf was not trimmed. Vellum is clean and supple Some minor wrinkling and cockling small patch of adhesive residue at corners and faint offsetting but overall with strong dark text and notation and excellent survival of ruling and musical lines. No losses. Ships unmatted and unframed unknown
