All 24 cards are in non-adhesive transparent protective sleeves. The Franco-British Exhibition was a large public fair held in London between 14 May and 31 October 1908. It was the first in the series of the White City Exhibitions. The exhibition attracted 8 million visitors and celebrated the Entente Cordiale signed in 1904 by the United Kingdom and France. The chief architect of the buildings was John Belcher. The Exhibition was held in an area of west London near Shepherd's Bush which is now called White City: the area acquired its name from the exhibition buildings which were all painted white. "In the Clouds" "The First Spat" etc. Of the 8 5 are postmarked in September 1907 by a honeymooning couple Bessie and Claude as they travel through the Thousand Islands Niagara Falls and Toronto and mailing to Bessie's mother in Clarendon Virginia. 8 color postcards splitback vgc. Many women and children spectators as well as people leaning from second story windows with Macarey Pharmaceutical Chemist shop clearly visible at number 66 postally unused. The two of Valentine's Series are Japanese warships the "Japanese Battleship "Yashima" and the "Japanese Cruiser "Yoshino". The Yashima card posted with a cancellation stamp from Adelaide 1905; the other unused. Very slt rubbed at edges otherwise very good condition. unknown

Sydney postcards include Pitt St. George St. Macquarie St. Central Railway Station Circular Quay Bridge St. Elizabeth St. Woolcott St. Martin Place Town Hall Corner Government House the Custom House and Railway Square. The nature scenes include the Jenolan Caves National Pass Katoomba and Loddon Falls Centennial Glen Blackheath and Fairy Dell Cascades Leura Blue Mountains. 1940ref. 25612Garrison New York: Ave Maria Hour & St. Anthony's Legion 1940. A group of 30 black and white Albertype-process postcards all with different images of this retreat-house monastery located in Garrison New York. Founded in 1898 the Society of Atonement is a Catholic Franciscan order that maintains various community outreach programs; their founder Rev. Father Paul James Francis Lewis T. Wattson is currently a candidate under review for saintly canonization. The cards have two copyright notices on their backs about half the cards with Ave Maria Hour and the Prayer of The Blessings of God's Poor Upon You printed in the stamp section; the others with the copyright of St. Anthony's Legion with the prayer of May Jesus Mary Joseph be With Us On Our Way. Images include Father Paul school the cloister walk Little Flower Friary living quarters pictures of the grounds landscaping statuary friars at prayer and play interior and exterior views of the buildings. All of the cards with short printed descriptions of the images on their reverse sides. Not dated; however the Fr. Paul card notes his death in 1940.
