2002ref. 100662002. Ratner Brett. FBI fax prop from Red Dragon 2002 illustrates the film's use of bureaucratic documents coded language and print media to dramatize Hannibal Lecter's manipulation of an active serial-murder investigation. Based on Thomas Harris's 1981 novel and written for the screen by Ted Tally the film follows FBI investigator Will Graham's pursuit of Francis Dolarhyde with assistance from the incarcerated Lecter played by Anthony Hopkins. This production artifact belongs to the material culture of psychological horror cinema and supports study of how official communications and apparently ordinary newspaper advertisements were fashioned into instruments of suspense. Red Dragon was released by Universal Pictures on October 4 2002. Production-made FBI fax addressed "To: Jack Crawford / Jacoby Task Force" reproducing a classified advertisement attributed within the film to Lecter. Beneath an FBI logo the document states: "Here's a copy as it was typeset The Tattler. I'm sending the original to the Lab for printing and paper traces." The reproduced advertisement begins "Dear Pilgrim" incorporates numerous biblical references as coded riddles and concludes "Bless you 666." Within the narrative Lecter uses the personals section of the National Tattler to communicate covertly embedding information within language that appears cryptic to investigators while remaining intelligible to its intended recipient. The prop demonstrates how Red Dragon visualized investigative procedure through documents that move between the FBI forensic analysis newspapers and Lecter's confinement. Its official typography and agency insignia lend institutional credibility to a narrative in which communication itself becomes evidence and threat. Accompanied by a signed certificate of authenticity from Universal Pictures and Premier Props affirming its association with the production. No defects are reported in the supplied description; very good. A provenance-supported production document connecting Anthony Hopkins's final feature-film portrayal of Hannibal Lecter with one of the story's central acts of coded communication. unknown books

Book examines the powerful influence of the biblical Psalms on sixteenth- and seventeenth-century English literature. It explores the imaginative beautiful ingenious and sometimes ludicrous and improbable ways in which the Psalms were 'translated' from ancient Israel to Renaissance and Reformation England. No biblical book was more often or more diversely translated than the Psalms during the period. In church psalters sophisticated metrical paraphrases poetic adaptations meditations sermons commentaries and through biblical allusions in secular poems plays and prose fiction English men and women interpreted the Psalms refashioning them according to their own personal religious political or aesthetic agendas. The book focuses on literature from major writers like Shakespeare and Milton to less prominent ones like George Gascoigne Mary Sidney Herbert and George Wither but it also explores the adaptations of the Psalms in musical settings emblems works of theology and political polemic.
