Only edition of the comprehensive trial report documenting the explosive legal battle between New York City Mayor George Opdyke and Thurlow Weed the powerful editor of the Albany Evening Journal. At the height of the Civil War Weed accused Opdyke of using his office to reap illicit profits from government military contracts-essentially charging the Mayor with war profiteering.
