1969ref. 3236 pages. Quarto 11 by 8 1/2 inch stapled softcover mimeographed on heavy paper. Several old staple marks top left minor bump & wear to corners some darkening from sun front o/w VERY GOOD CONDITION. When it came to me pages were falling off the back because the staples weren't long enough to hold them all. As a result I broke it into halves and stapled each half. Anyone with longer staples could easily restore it to one piece. FROM THE BORDERLAND SCIENCES WEBSITE: After the Second World War "teacher and academic Meade Layne joined with Max Freedom Long and others to form an association of spiritualists and parapsychologists New Thought writers and Theosophical thinkers in Southern California. They called their field of research 'the borderlands' of science those murky areas where quanta overlap with spirit where changes in consciousness force the very essence of being to be questioned. The goal was to liberally study review and report on the discarded or uncommon strands of science and philosophy often relying on unorthodox means and sources." The first story about the Findhorn community is by Peter Caddy who was generally considered the leader of the community right into the '70's. Anyone who knows about Findhorn knows that a lot of magical events have taken place there. The second story is attributed to Flavius Josephus the author of Antiquities of the Jews during the first century. This of course is some kind of "seance session" or "channelling" with some spirit calling himself Flavius Josephus. The third story is a discussion of the unseen realities which surround and in many ways control us including a discussion of Dion Fortune's book on Psychic Self-Defense. The third story is an excerpt from Fortune's Psychic Self-Defense. The fourth is a short but strange little story. The Clips Quotes & Comments that follow are also very interesting. CONTENTS: IT'S ALWAYS CHRISTMAS AT FINDHORN BY PETER CADDY. • A QUESTION OF VITAL IMPORTANCE TO HUMANITY BY FLAVIUS JOSEPHUS. • ONE WOMAN'S INVISIBLE REALITY. • FENRIS THE WOLF-HORROR OF THE NORTH BY DION FORTUNE. • THE DWELLER ON THE KAISER'S THRESHOLD BY JUDGE DAVID PATTERSON HATCH. • CLIPS QUOTES & COMMENTS.
