Alcuni contributi riguardano la storia dell’esegesi della Bibbia e il mondo della predicazione; altri vertono sull'agiografia e sul culto dei Santi quale specchio dei rapporti storico-sociali interregionali; è presente l’interesse per figure, temi e motivi specifici di letteratura cristiana antica o per problematiche teologiche, sociali o politiche del cristianesimo, come per la storia delle istituzioni e dei movimenti religiosi. In consonanza diretta con l’interesse privilegiato degli studi di Boris Ulianich appare consistente il gruppo di studi concernenti protagonisti o tematiche della Riforma e Controriforma, quali Lutero o Sarpi, o quello sulla vita religiosa a Napoli e nel Regno nel Cinquecento.
