Over the course of his fifty-year career, Jacques Grange has designed homes for the world's most respected collectors, artists, designers, and tastemakers. This essential volume illustrates Grange?s wide-ranging inspiration and exquisite taste through more than thirty new residential projects in Europe and the United States, from a luxury hôtel particulier in Paris to a chic beachside cabana in Comporta, Portugal, and a mid-century modern house in Los Angeles. Text and interviews by Parisian gallerist Pierre Passebon discuss Grange's unique approach to design and decoration. Previously unpublished photographs by François Halard capture these singular projects with profound sensibility.
Hardcover, 376 pages, FR, 320 x 250 mm, NOUVEAU, jacquette, illustrations en couleur. ISBN 9782080280862.

"For almost twenty years the SoHo design gallery MOSS was the place where design, art, money, and glamour mixed. Murray Moss, the impresario behind the shop, and his partner, Franklin Getchell, were the leading arbiters of good taste and the new--launching the careers of now-established designers such as Studio Job and Maarten Baas while bringing back into fashion eighteenth-century porcelain and Tupperware. By mixing high and low MOSS shifted the design conversation from the galleries of MoMA to a storefront in SoHo. Please Do Not Touch is their witty insider confessions of that exciting time. Natural storytellers, Moss and Getchell effortlessly weave entertaining and revealing tales that take the reader behind the scenes of MOSS's famous opening night parties and spectacular projects and partnerships with never-before-seen photographs from their personal archives. A memoir by two legends of modern design, Please Do Not Touch is sure to become a "bible" for cognoscenti and students alike--transporting lovers of modern design back to the time when high design first broke all barriers."--Pubisher. || Interior decoration -- New York (State) -- New York. Hardcover with dustjacket, 253pp., 22.5x30.5cm., lavishly illustr. in col., new! ENGLISH TEXT. ISBN 9782080305350. Axel Vervoordt began purchasing antiques in his teens and has steadily built a vast collection of exquisite objects from around the world. He is renowned for his prestigious exhibitions at major world antique fairs, including the New York Design Fair and TEFAF Maastricht. His interior designs, in both traditional and modern settings around the world, combine antiques from all continents with a Zen sensuality, and they blend the old with the new to create harmonious interiors. His unusual pairings may include Chinese porcelain with English furniture or a Roman relic alongside a 1930s Flemish painting. The extent of Vervoordt?s talent is revealed in the twenty-three homes in Europe and the United States presented here through Christian Sarramon?s photographs. The variety of styles reflects Vervoordt?s eclecticism, and his authentic and welcoming interiors are inspirational treasure troves. From the rustic charm of a Swiss chalet to the classic finesse of a Bordeaux château to the modern allure of a Miami mansion, Vervoordt?s creations are perfectly in tune with the character and history of each space.
