On retrouve dans cet ouvrage plus d'une centaine de ces photographies sur l'histoire de l'art du Japon, publiees pour la premiere fois. Autre etape capitale dans son oeuvre : la convention de collaboration que Charlotte Perriand signe avec les Ateliers Jean Prouve en 1952. Cette collaboration (1952-1955), est marquee par un ensemble de realisations emblematiques et de chefs-d'oeuvre du design, comme les bibliotheques Mexique et Tunisie creees par Charlotte Perriand.
