Hardback, 310x250mm, 144p, full colour colour illustrations, English/ French/ German edition . ISBN 9789058561336. This special book tides over a period of thirty years and show how the role of product design has evolved through the work of Enthoven Associates, an internationally operating design consultancy in Antwerp, led by Alain Denis, Axel Enthoven and Jean-Pierre Geelen. The services of design consultants have thoroughly changed, and the same goes for design itself: from the vision of an individual designer to the combined expertise of the members of a team, from a more artistic view on products from the daily life to a much more complex added value that combines art with technology or ethical values with marketing concepts. All these things are exemplified by a historical overview and dozens of detailed cases like the Magiq bus, the Brussels tram, the Genio bed, Living Tomorrow, the Ethnicraft chair, products for Tupperware

Hardcover, 128 pages, Norsk/English, 275 x 215 mm , New. ISBN 9783897904606. Terje Ekstrom was the first postmodern designer in Norway and his futuristic chairs even made it into the Star Trek TV-Series; this is the first monograph on the designer Informative description of the Norwegian design scene in the 1980s Accompanies the exhibition of Frank Nievergelt's donation at The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design, Oslo (NO)The work of the pioneering designer Terje Ekstrom (1944-2013) contributed a new vitality and independence to the Norwegian design scene of the 1970s and '80s, at a time of cultural and social change. Ekstrom represented a new generation of designers who challenged the ideals of the golden age of Scandinavian design. As this richly illustrated book shows, Ekstrom was both a product of his own time and far ahead of it. Seen as one of Norway's first postmodern designers, his internationally successful Ekstrem chair achieved iconic status due to its unique and visionary qualities, as did his audio equipment design for the renowned Tandberg Radiofabrikk. Including specially commissioned photographs of his workplace and home, this book for the first time tells the story of Ekstrom's design practice, characterized by an eclectic search for originality.Contents: A Tribute to Terje Ekstrom (Widar Halen); Acknowledgements; In Search of Originality (Denise Hagstromer); The Art of Sitting Naturally (Espen Johnsen); The Reluctant Postmodernist - Terje Ekstrom and His Ekstrem Seating Concept (Trygve Ask); High Fidelity: Visioning Sound at Tandbergs Radiofabrikk (Kjetil Fallan); Capturing the Momentum: The 1984 Interior Now: Norwegian experimental design exhibition (Denise Hagstromer); Terje Ekstrom - Janne B.
