Operaanonimadel vicentino G.T. Faccioli che, giunto nel monastero domenicano di Casale Manferrato nel 1760, conobbe il missionario casalese Vincenzo Maria Ricci. Questi arso dal desiderio del martirio missionario, riusci nel 1762 a partire per la Persia. Dopo molte difficolta' a causa dei torbidi che si agitavanoin quei paesi riusci' ad approdare ad Ispahan dopo un viaggio di durato piu' di un anno.
