Sawyer, Ware, MA (an author; and Massachusetts Socialist and Democratic political figure). 12mo. Original full embossed purple cloth binding, lettered in gold. Spine and top edges of boards faded. Extremities worn with slight loss at head of spine. Contemporary Science Series edited by Havelock Ellis. This interesting work includes extensive articles on: the Plains Indians; the Apaches; the Western Inoits of Alaska and the Arctic; as well as Natives of India and Bengal. De Gubernatis, inizialmente latinista, compi' studi in sanscrito a Berlino. Fu in seguito docente di sanscrito e glottologia comparata a Firenze. Edizione molto rara a trovarsi completa dei tre volumi.
