Issued in advance of the June 7 1991 theatrical release this original studio press kit documents the promotional campaign for City Slickers the acclaimed comedy starring Billy Crystal Daniel Stern Bruno Kirby Helen Slater Patricia Wettig and Academy Award-winner Jack Palance. Prepared by Castle Rock Entertainment for journalists broadcasters and film critics the kit presents the film exactly as it was introduced to the media before its national release. MARKETING A MODERN CLASSIC. Far more than a collection of publicity photographs the archive provides a comprehensive snapshot of Hollywood studio marketing in the early 1990s. Alongside eight original Bruce McBroom publicity stills are production notes cast and crew biographies promotional correspondence localized press distribution material a promotional bookmark and a Boston-area WBCN radio advance screening pass. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: Studio-issued glossy pictorial cardstock folder with two interior pockets measuring approximately 9 by 12 inches. WBCN 104.1 FM 'Admit Two' advance screening ticket for the June 4 1991 preview at Circle Cinemas Brookline Massachusetts. Production sheets are professionally prepared in studio typewriter-style format on white letter-size paper. Publicity stills carry Castle Rock Entertainment and City Slickers identification with descriptive captions and photographer credit. Folder features full-color illustrated artwork adapted from the theatrical advertising campaign. CONDITION: The original pictorial folder remains structurally sound with light handling wear scattered edge creasing minor rubbing to the glossy laminate and modest corner wear consistent with studio distribution and storage. The internal production material is exceptionally well preserved. The production notes cast lists transmittal letter screening pass questionnaire and promotional bookmark remain crisp clean and uncreased. All six original publicity stills retain strong photographic contrast with bright surfaces and sharp image definition. No pinholes tape residue corner creases or editorial markings observed.
