2007Best.-Nr. 77042Marion Massachusetts: Harsh Brutal Cold Productions 2007. Limited to 300 copies. The first demo by the heavy psychedelic rock band Elder featuring three tracks: 1162 Red Sunrise and Black Midnight. Elder are an ascendant American heavy metal group who take inspiration from progressive rock almost as much as from stoner metal and doom. The band formed in Marion Massachusetts in 2005 behind singer and principal songwriter Nick DiSalvo; bass player Jack Donovan and drummer Matt Cuoto completed the lineup. Their self-titled debut album 2008 was followed by Dead Roots Stirring 2011 released by MeteorCity Records and the breakthrough full-length Lore 2015 which was recently crwoned "Album of the Decade" by The Obelisk. Continuing to incorporate new elements into their sound Elder added guitarist Michael Risberg and new drummer Georg Edert releasing the album Omens 2020 which "answered any speculation about new directions with affirmation: evolution or extinction. Lush intricately interwoven melodies grow and dissolve into spaced-out jams; massive riffs thunder down into a churning sea of psychedelic sounds and unpredictable grooves carry away the listener" Elder website. Now based in Berlin Germany Elder recently opened for Tool on their 2024 North American tour. Copied on a white cassette tape without markings accompanied by the photomechanically reproduced insert and housed in the original plastic case. Near fine. Harsh Brutal Cold Productions unknown

1999Best.-Nr. 80546Los Angeles California and Portland Oregon: Weezer Fan Club 1999. Complete run of the handcrafted Weezer Fan Club publication along with Weezer Fan Club Address Book which lists the name and address of more than 4000 members and the membership card of Weezer Fan #4339 name withheld. Also accompanied by the Weezer Christmas CD 2000 which features the tracks "The Christmas Song" and "Christmas Celebration". Weezine was the passion project of sisters Mykel and Carli Allan who started the Weezer Fan Club in late 1994 shortly after the release of the band's debut album. The quarterly publications served as a primary source of band news in the mid to late '90s. Issues of the zine consisted of around 16 pages each filled with fan submissions information on B-sides interviews with the band forms for ordering band merch and anything else related to Weezer. Tragically Mykel and Carli Allan along with their younger sister died in a car accident while caravanning between Weezer shows in Denver and Salt Lake City on July 9 1997. Karl Koch Weezer's general assistant and "unofficial fifth member" assumed control of the zine beginning with Issue #11 which was dedicated as a tribute to the sisters. Weezer headlined a tribute concert in Hollywood California on August 15 1997 to help cover the funeral costs and dedicated their third album Weezer Green Album 2001 to the Allan sisters. Production of the Weezine slowed down significantly in the late '90s both due to Koch's other commitments and the lack of news caused by the band's post-Pinkerton 1996 hiatus. The zine along with the fan club as a whole was officially ended by Koch and the band around 2000. All issues are photomechanically reproduced on standard white stock and folded to digest size 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". The first ten issues are bound with staples while the final four are simply folded. Accompanied by two mailing envelopes. Some very faint smudging to a few issues; else near fine. OCLC locates no holdings. Weezer Fan Club unknown
