Likely geared toward American students the tourism department attempts to entice any wanderlusters to Syria with inexpensive domestic travel "cheerful little coffee houses" and "strange Arab night clubs." In 1936 Syria would see a general strike among the Syrian people and a treaty negotiation later in the year to guarantee the people self-rule after another 25 years of French rule.
