In this profusely illustrated volume fourteen seminal works - including some making their North American premiere - provide an eye-popping overview of the career of the 2001 Turner Prize winner. An original essay by scholar Briony Fer looks at the overriding tendency toward repetition and seriality that marks Creed's work whereby he recalls and transforms the work of an earlier generation of artists such as Eva Hesse Dan Flavin and Agnes Martin. . 2011. 0986596132 . Description: "Living in Venice can mean a lot of things. Each of the different kinds of houses relates to the city in its own way. Living in a 'palazzo' is hardly the same as living in a loft or in a Byzantine building. Then the fact that one's home overlooks a lane a square a private garden or even the lagoon means having a different relationship with the outside. There are many different ways of living in this unique city. Twenty five splendid houses including Casa Balboni designed by the great architect Carlo Scarpa are described and illustrated in detail in the 184 pages of this book and its 250 photographs all in color." -- with a bonus offer--; 25 splendid houses contemporary interiors designed by renowned architects composed in historical palaces illustrated in large-size photographs and detailed text. . 2009. 8872002869 . FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request - IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT - Flawless copy brand new pristine never opened -- Text in English. 256 pages; 435 illustrations. -- with a bonus offer--; Gabriel Orozco emerged at the beginning of the 1990s as one of the most intriguing and original artists of his generation one of the last to come of age during the twentieth century. His work is unique in its formal power and intellectual rigor resisting confinement to one medium and roaming freely and fluently among drawing photography sculpture installation and painting. Orozco deliberately blurs the boundary between the art object and the everyday environment situating his work in a place that merges art and reality whether through exquisite drawings made on airplane boarding passes or sculptures composed of recovered trash. This publication examines two decades of the artist's production year by year from 1989 through 2009. Each section is richly illustrated and includes a short text based on interviews with the artist that combines biographical information with a brief and focused discussion of selected works. Critical essays by Ann Temkin Benjamin H.D. Buchloh and Briony Fer supplement these foundational and chronological explorations providing new insights and strategies for grounding Orozco's work in the larger landscape of contemporary art production. Gabriel Orozco born in Mexico 1962 studied at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plasticas in Mexico City and at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid Spain. He has exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art The Museum of Modern Art New York the Guggenheim Museum the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Venice Biennale. Orozco lives and works in New York Paris and Mexico City. . 2009. 0870707620 . Museum hardcover
