brossura I Grandi delineati in questo volume possono aiutare il lettore a trovare dei punti d'orientamento in un mondo che percepiamo come sempre più complesso e confuso. Si tratta di personaggi assai diversi, talora decisamente "inattuali", in grado di aiutarci a ricostruire dalle fondamenta un senso del vivere del quale nel nostro tempo sembriamo avere fortemente bisogno. Non propongono verità puramente teoriche, ma hanno continuamente fatto interagire le teorie con i sentimenti e le esperienze della vita. L'elemento che li accomuna non è solo quello di avere elaborato idee importanti ed originali (anche se in un certo senso "antiche come le montagne" secondo la formula di Gandhi), quanto di aver fatto delle proprie vite delle vere e proprie "esperienze di verità", in una continua interazione tra cultura, intelligenza e vita. È convinzione dell'Autore che il confronto e la discussione di esperienze di vita, sia passate che attuali (in uno scambio di verità vitali), rappresenti il modo migliore per costruire un tessuto universalmente partecipabile di significati: un linguaggio nel quale gli esseri umani di tutte le culture possano esprimere attraverso il dialogo le ragioni e le difficoltà del vivere umanamente sull'unico pianeta disponibile ad ospitarci. Un terreno d'incontro del quale abbiamo oggi più che mai bisogno per sentirci parte di un unico mondo.

Im dritten Teil beschreibt der Autor die sich wandelnden schöpfungstheologischen Vorstellungen des Christentums und zeigt, wie sich der Schöpfungsglaube in Auseinandersetzung mit den sich wandelnden Weltbildern bis heute erhalten hat. -- Es wird deutlich, daß zwischen „Naturoffenbarung“ und Wortoffenbarung kein Widerspruch besteht und daß christliche Schöpfungslehre und das Konzept der Selbstorganisation sich nicht ausschließen, sondern sinnvoll ergänzen. br. Fin dagli albori del cristianesimo, l'umanità occidentale ha sognato la felicità nel passato remoto del Paradiso terrestre o nell'estremo futuro del regno messianico dell'ultimo giorno. L'anelito alla beatitudine si è, così, tinto delle opposte tonalità della nostalgia e della speranza. Il sognatore di viaggi, però, immagina il paese della felicità al di là dell'orizzonte invece che al di là della storia. Il sogno di un mondo migliore è la stella polare che dirige il cammino di chi non si appaga di ciò che possiede qui e ora. L'immaginario affranca il sognatore dalle limitazioni della realtà quotidiana e spinge il viaggiatore a oltrepassare qualsiasi confine.
