br. La "Propedeutica alla teologia naturale" appare a Halle nel 1781, anno in cui Kant dà alle stampe la "Critica della ragion pura". Il destino storiografico dello scritto e quello del suo autore sono strettamente legati all'ingombrante figura di Kant. Eberhard non fu tuttavia una mera "controfigura dogmatica" del filosofo della Critica né l'utilizzo che questi farà del manuale eberhardiano nelle proprie lezioni di filosofia della religione dei primi anni Ottanta esaurisce l'importanza di un documento che, tra Katheder- e Weltphilosophie, rivela una saliente articolazione di teologia naturale in senso stretto e di filosofia della religione intonata alla Dogmenkritik. Questa articolazione, che l'ampio saggio introduttivo e il ricco apparato di note che accompagnano la presente traduzione si incaricano di valorizzare, informa una "logica della teologia" che se da un lato può riservare spunti di riflessione e una densa mappa concettuale a quanti sono sensibili al tema della "rinascita della teologia naturale nella filosofia analitica", dall'altro restituisce un vibrante e ancora attualissimo monito illuministico.
