He analyses the tensions and controversies in higher command in the light of talks with General Alexander, and after the war with General Clark, and General McCreery, and the redoubtable General Wladyslaw Anders who commanded the large Polish contingent. On a different level the author describes the campaign from the viewpoint of the soldiers he commanded and whose life he shared." Very Good.
