Following years of meticulous research and additional rare material made it possible for us to publish the second book of the series again based on The Alexander Collection covering the Civil Post Offices in Jerusalem from 1840 to 1918 when the Ottoman rule ended in Palestine. The book tells the story of communication under the Ottoman rule commencing with the earliest known letter recorded from Jerusalem to the latest recorded letter. it also includes several unique letters and postcards within the Holy Land. We are planning to publish the last book in the trilogy covering civil post offices in other parts of the Palestine in the very near future.

The content of the book is formed by research carried out by the Hrant Dink Foundation between 2016 and 2018. Trying to have a holistic view, we put together the knowledge we gathered during the two periods of fieldwork in Develi natives in Istanbul and abroad, and research on the literature, especially from Armenian sources. After almost three years of research, this book presents the several hundred years' changing history and the 2018 situation of Develi's Armenian life and cultural heritage.

We hope that the information presented here interests not only researchers and history enthusiasts, but anyone who wants to learn more about Sivas. Sivas is a land that reaches to the Black Sea in the north, as far as Aleppo to the south, the Euphrates in the east and Cappadocia to the west. The vast geography creates particularities in the regions, and to each of these we have tried to give attention. In order to understand Sivas, one needs to go from Susehri to Gürün, from Ulas to Sarkisla, to consider Hafik and Zara separately; the towns of these dispersed regions, Çepni of Gemerek and Mancilik of Kangal should be taken as distinct places, and each of the villages of Divrigi should be studied thoroughly by themselves. In presenting our findings, we also mention the challenges we had and the impressions we gained during the research process of the cultural heritage that is faced by the threat of being forgotten. By this we aim to contribute to the methodological discussions used in researching similar topics.

Rudolf Franz Lehnert and Ernst Heinrich Landrock produced images of North African people, landscapes, and architecture for a primarily European audience. "Archival Memories" on the one hand informs viewers about how a researcher organized his working day, how he systematically allotted his time, and what methods he used in the pre-digital age. On the other hand, it aims to present from retrospective perspectives the states of numerous cultural assets, most of which remain today only as memories within urban structures.

War and Nationalism presents thorough up-to-date scholarship on the often misunderstood and neglected Balkan Wars of 1912 to 1913, which contributed to the outbreak of World War I. The essays contain critical inquiries into the diverse and interconnected processes of social, economic, and political exchange that escalated into conflict. The wars represented a pivotal moment that had a long-lasting impact on the regional state system and fundamentally transformed the beleaguered Ottoman Empire in the process. This interdisciplinary volume stands as a critique of the standard discourse regarding the Balkan Wars and effectively questions many of the assumptions of prevailing modern nation-state histories, which have long privileged the ethno-religious dimensions present in the Balkans. The authors go to great lengths in demonstrating the fluidity of social, geographical, and cultural boundaries before 1912 and call into question the "nationalist watershed" notion that was artificially imposed by manipulative historiography and political machinations following the end of fighting in 1913. War and Nationalism will be of interest to scholars looking to enrich their own understanding of an overshadowed historical event and will serve as a valuable contribution to courses on Ottoman and European history.
