Prima lezione di scienza politica
br. "Politica", nella versione che ne diede Aristotele, non è un termine singolare, ma plurale. Si riferisce a quanto avviene nella polis, ovvero in quello specifico sistema che definiamo "politico". Politica sono tutte (o quasi) le attività che riguardano la polis e che si svolgono nel suo ambito. La politica è, dunque, un insieme di attività complesse di vario tipo, che sono svolte dai cittadini e che ruotano attorno all'esercizio del potere nella città. In quanto esercitate nella e per la città, le attività politiche richiedono capacità più o meno grandi e conseguono risultati più o meno meritori, oppure riprovevoli, sanzionabili e perfettibili, per tutti coloro che vivono in quella città ovvero, oggi diremmo, in quel determinato sistema politico. Qualsiasi sistema politico è composto da tre elementi essenziali: la comunità politica, il regime, le autorità. Definendo con accuratezza e precisione e analizzando in profondità questi tre elementi è possibile ottenere una visione complessiva di che cos'è la politica, di come deve essere studiata e di quali sono gli esiti conoscitivi finora conseguiti.

In un periodo in cui don Giovanni è il più delle volte rappresentato come un playboy violento, la difesa della sua figura viene da una donna che rivendica la propria appartenenza femminista, mettendola in tensione con la carica eversiva del personaggio. Non solo seduttore, ma oppositore irriducibile, assunto a incarnare un potenziale di libertà che comprende anche la spietatezza e la beffa, rievocando gli ideali e le illusioni degli anni Sessanta. Il testo alterna dialoghi immaginari tra la narratrice e don Giovanni a capitoli in cui lei stessa racconta di incontri con specialisti e appassionati del mito di don Giovanni. Tra le versioni del mito che vengono presentate nei dialoghi: il racconto orale (di cui si trovano tracce fin dal Quattrocento) su Leonzio allievo di Machiavelli e dannato per il suo ateismo, messo in scena dai gesuiti di Ingolstadt nel 1615; la Commedia dell'Arte e il teatro dei burattini; l'opera di Mozart e Da Ponte; le versioni di Tirso de Molina, Molière, Byron, Hoffmann, ma anche di Ellery Queen, e quelle di film in cui don Giovanni è impersonato da Erroll Flynn (1948) o Marlon Brando (1995); le storie di Porfirio Rubirosa e Fred Buscaglione; e - grazie a un'interpretazione innovativa - le rielaborazioni coloniali e postcoloniali del mito di don Giovanni.

A few scattred brownspots. � This landmark paper in which Pasteur once and for all disproves the doctrine of spontaneous generation in the form in which it had been upheld through the nineteenth century and he suggest that infection is spread by germs. He demonstrates that fermentation is connected with living organisms and that when these were excluded spontaneous generation does not occur.The memoir was also published in Ann. d. sc. naturelles the year before in a more condenced form.<br><br>"Pasteur's publications on the subject of spontaneous generation consist chiefly of communications to the Academy of Sciences of Paris and published in abstracts in the "Comptes rendus de l'Acad. des Sciences" of 1860 and 1861. Il conflitto in celluloide. La Seconda guerra mondiale, la cortina di ferro e il cinema americano.

In questo saggio l'autore prende in esame i film americani di propaganda degli anni della Seconda Guerra Mondiale e della Guerra Fredda dando ampio risalto al legame inscindibile fra storia e cinema. Alcuni titoli importanti esaminati nel volume sono "Casablanca, L'arcipelago in fiamme, Obbiettivo Burma!" e il controverso "Mission to Moscow". Il testo propone documenti inediti che mettono in evidenza la straordinaria efficacia delle pellicole di Hollywood come forma comunicativa e racconta la settima arte con un taglio prettamente storico arricchito da curiosi aneddoti sullo studio system. Le fonti principali utilizzate nella ricerca sono i rapporti epistolari tra le majors , l'Ufficio di Censura e il Pentagono. I protagonisti del libro sono divi del calibro di John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, Erro! Flynn e Gary Cooper. Per la prima volta viene presentata una filmografia di lungometraggi girati in America nei primi anni '30 che menzionano Mussolini e in molti casi lo evocano con toni decisamente celebrativi. In conclusione viene analizzato "Berretti verdi" con John Wayne, l'unico film di Hollywood che appoggiò risolutamente la partecipazione americana al conflitto in Vietnam. Prefazione di Luca Martera.

"Spazi Aurali" riflette sulla necessaria origine musicale dell'atto di misurare e comporre in architettura, non soltanto in riferimento alla pratica metrica desunta dalla tradizione classica e in particolare dal principio pitagorico della consonanza, ma anche e soprattutto in riferimento all'attuale contesto tecnologico. Media locativi e strumenti di modellazione virtuale ci pongono di fronte all'esperienza di ciò che Marshall McLuhan nominava "Spazio Acustico", lo spazio della trasmissione orale delle informazioni, lo spazio non codificato dalla scrittura comune, che necessita con urgenza di ritornare musicale e di trovare una sua grafia per poter essere riconoscibile e interpretabile. L'agogica è indicata come disciplina del tempo spazio per definire un nuovo sistema determinativo della forma in rapporto alla mobilità dei suoi utenti. La nuova sensibilità ambientale, ottenuta dalle tecniche oggi disponibili, ci permette così di concepire l'architettura non solo come struttura durevole dell'abitare, ma anche come funzione di frequenza del tempo e dei sensi che ne caratterizzano il requisito di abitabilità. La trattazione è sostenuta e sviluppata dalla presenza, a fine libro, di una breve antologia atta a impostare un catalogo storico e geografico delle tecniche che ci permettono di rilanciare questo dibattito nella prospettiva contemporanea.
