Evitando contrapposizioni e assumendo la prospettiva dei cognitivisti per fare chiarezza sul loro metodo nello studio del "sacro" - più di quanto loro stessi abbiano compiuto finora - l'autore, in prospettiva fenomenologica, cerca di descrivere e confrontare le diverse modalità di ricerca, senza stabilire un ordine gerarchico tra gli esiti ma limitandosi a osservare elementi comuni e categorie ricorrenti. Quando non cade in una deriva del tutto naturalistica, incapace di dar conto della trascendenza, anche lo studio della mente può servire a comprendere il manifestarsi del sacro nell'uomo, e svela inaspettate assonanze con quell'"apriori" religioso - vissuto ed esperito - di Rudolf Otto, cui l'intero arco della storia e delle scienze della religione novecentesca più o meno velatamente rinvia. Dark-tan leather-backed marbled boards. 179 i blank pp. With extensive musical examples tables etc. Binding quite worn rubbed and bumped; spine lacking; upper detached; free front endpaper detached. Uniform light browning; occasional foxing browning and soiling; some overpastes; some signatures split; title detached; other minor defects. "The geometric symbols . come directly from André Lehrbuch der Tonsetzkunst Erster Band . ; the Roman numerals are derived in all probability from G. Weber Versuch einer geordneten Theorie der Tonsetzkunst . However much of the material is similar to that found in any number of ordinary instructional works of the period e.g. M. Winkler Generalbass und Harmonielehre . And of course the main 18th century influence appears to be that of Kirnberger 1774 who was the major German progenitor of the 19th-century authors . It is an interesting sociological document anfd reflects the state of music pedagogy vis à vis music theory near the end of the first half of the 19th century." Allen Forte in a letter to J & J Lubrano dated August 29 1983. Professor Forte suggests that this attractive manuscript was probably written by an amateur female musician. unknown
