The masterpieces from the rich collection from the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg reflected every aspect of life including labour and poverty, the world of children, public festivals, war and death, scenes from bourgeois life, and revolution. In literature, music, and fine arts, the "Russian spirit" is depicted as a world of emotions in which love, sorrow, and death run rampant. After the 1860s, Realist conventions came to dominate the genre scenes. Progressive artists of Russia began portraying the fundamental problems of the period such as social injustice, serfdom (until 1861, peasants were considered as property of landowners in Russia), child labor, subjugation of women, and poverty. Daily life hence became a point of interest in art. In the 1870s and particularly after the 1880s, a more positive attitude came into view; the artists gradually diverged from depicting painful worlds. The public was no longer the victim, but a powerful subject. A tendency to poeticize folklore, as well as the public perception of nature and the universe began to emerge. Social problems were addressed in their entirety; analysis replaced condemnation. The exhibition, which included artists from Repin to Makovsky, Yaroshenko to Shishkin along with many others, presented not only Russia of the period with all its different aspects, but with its themes and characters the exhibition offered audiences a unique experience, one similar to reading the works of the great Russian writers such as Nikolai Gogol and Fyodor Dostoevsky.'.

This study has been prepared after researches lasted several years in archives and libraries of the Russian Federation. The documentary aspect of this long-lasting study is especially based on the documents found in the Archive of the Russian Empire Foreign Policy, the Russian State Military History Archive, the Russian Federation State Archive in Moscow, and the Russian State History Archive in Saint Petersburg. Library research within the scope of the study was carried out in the Russian National Library, Library of the Academy of Sciences, Library of the Institute of the Oriental Studies in Saint Petersburg, and in the Russian State Library (previously Lenin Library) in Moscow. Besides Russian sources, the studies of Armenian historians and authors written in the Russian language during the Tsarist and Soviet eras have also been thoroughly examined in our research. This is the first extensive study carried out in eight different Russian archives on the process of the emergence of the Armenian Question.

Throughout all these tasks, Chermayeff & Geismar's work has remained consistent, not in style, but in its approach to design. Accepting the Modernist ideal that design is a problem-solving discipline, they have sought to humanize that ideal through humor, artistic invention and an entrepreneurial spirit.

He saves the envelopes received from friends and colleagues, who send him abandoned gloves, discarded candy wrappers and other visual delights to add to those he has picked up on the streets of the world. Since the mid 1950s, Chermayeff has been practicing as a graphic designer, in New York with his partner Tom Geismar. His collages have been exhibited and published in the United States, Europe and Japan.

Renowned as the most successful portrait and fashion photographer of New York in the 1920s, American-Hungarian photographer Nickolas Muray (1892-1965) revolutionized photography with his use of natural color photography in advertising in the 1930s. For the first time ever, Muray's photographs can be seen at Pera Museum between January 25 and April 21, 2013. Curated by Salomon Grimberg, the exhibition brings together Nickolas Muray's photographs in a retrospective. Garnered from George Eastman House, the famous photography archive in the US, the Nickolas Muray Archive, which is under the direction of the Muray family, and various private collections, this selection summarizes Muray's career, covering nearly 50 years. Besides Muray's black-and-whites, the exhibition presents some of the color photographs that made him famous in Hollywood circles and the American advertising industry. Muray has photographed many famous actors, dancers, artists, and writers, from Greta Garbo to Marilyn Monroe, from Elizabeth Taylor to Martha Graham; he is also known for the first color photographs he took for famous brands such as Lucky Strike, Coca Cola, and General Foods. Published regularly in some of the most prominent magazines of his time like The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Dance, Shadowland, and Theater, these photographs are accompanied by the artist's portraits of Frida Kahlo, his great love.

[Album of photographs]. Dichavicius is a Lithuanian photographer. Rimantas Dichavicius graduated from Vilnius Institute of Art in 1963. He spent his early career working as an art editor for various publications and publishing houses. The artist's illustrations grace the pages of several dozen books. Dichavicius' groundbreaking photography book "Ziedai tarp ziedu" ("Blossoms among Blossoms") was published in 1987. Four editions would soon follow. The book, dedicated to beauty of youth and nature, got positive reviews all over the world. 'Visions' by Rimantas Dichavicius is a set of unique 'photopaintings'. The artist molds double connotations, lyricism and symbolism in these works, creating a rich world of different forms and colors. It needs to be pointed out that 'Visions' not only come alive in this book, but have an artistic life of their own - these 'photopaintings' are being exhibited in various galleries of the world as separate art works. It took 24 years to complete the series 'Ziedai tarp Ziedu' Blossoms among Blossoms. Some photos combine two generations - mom and her daughter 20+ years later. The President of Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbachev approved the publication of the album, which was the first ever photography album published in Soviet Union to feature nude Photography. Exhibitions were held in many major cities throughout the Soviet Union.

In Ottoman script. 112 p. Mustafa Rasih Pasha who was one of the important figures of Babiali at the time of III. Selim was sent to the Russia as an ambassador after treaty of Jassy. There are sefâretnâme and arîza about Rasih Pasha's embassy. The works written by Ottoman ambassadors or their assistances about their journeys are called sefâretnâme. The embassy travel and Russian impressions have been transferred into sefâretnâme related to Rasih Pasha's Russian embassy. Rasih Pasha described the social, economic, military, administrative and economic aspects of Russia in detail which are not explained in sefâretnâme in his arîza. These works composed after Rasih Pasha's embassy to Russia have involved very important informations about Russian Empire at the end of XVIII. Century. It is seen that the development of Russia during I. Petro reached to the top towards the end of XVIII. Century time of the II. Catherine. III. Selim as an Ottoman King made use of the arîza written on Russian during his reconstruction movement known as Nizam-i Cedit movement.
