Volume in 8° legato in mezza pelle (mende e piccole mancanze) titolo al dorso, sguardie, frontespizio con timbro d'appartenenza, una carta di dedicatoria, 207 pp, al verso dell'ultima errata e 17 di 20 tavole musicali incise in rame e più volte ripiegate al fondo del volume. Una delle grandi opere sull'apprendimento e lo sviluppo dell'arte musicale, rara anche in seconda edizione. MANCANO PURTROPPO LE TAVOLE III; IV E V, come le altre a carattere musicale, inserite al fondo dell'opera. Per il resto, il volume è in bella conservazione, con poche ed ininfluenti mende d'uso, qualche nota e correzione manoscritta. Davvero defatigante trovar opere siffatte scomplete, magari per incuria o per dimenticanza. Importante ed assai poco comune.

Contemporary half calf with giltstamped title to spine. Second edition of this splendid instructional work (first published by Zerletti in 1775). Treats the entire field of singing technique, common musical ornaments and instrumental flourishes, and the rules of accompaniment and harmonization. In addition, Manfredini provides advice on how to interpret certain pieces (cf. MGG). V. Manfredini (1737-99) had been Kapellmeister of Empress Katharine II and teacher of her son Paul before retiring to Bologna in 1768, where he wrote his present chief theoretical work. His views on voice instruction drew severe criticism from Mancini. "The second edition (Venice, 1797) was much revised and enlarged with new sections on singing and counterpoint" (New Grove). - Bound with the undated "seconda edizione" of Asioli's principal instructional work, the "Principi elementari de musica" (first published in Milan in 1809). Asioli enjoyed a great teaching reputation; Mozart's son was among his students. Next to Simon Mayr, Asioli was regarded as one of the foremost masters in Italy. His writings on musical theory and methodology remained influential throughout most of the 19th century (cf. MGG I, 753f.). Rare in all editions; no copy at auctions since 1950. - Spine somewhat rubbed; interior slightly browned due to paper. His skill and knowledge of shorthand was exceptional, and he was frequently called upon to record scientific addresses, and other important events. He served as private secretary to the Superintendent of the Mint, before resigning that post to engage in literary work. We feel fortunate to be able to present Short-Hand books owned by him. ill., br. "E comunque. Va bene Beethoven. Va bene Mozart. Ma qui si torna sempre al rumore, alla gola in fiamme, alla sete. Basta una chitarra e un cazzo di amplificatore, e la notte si condensa intorno alle bottiglie vuote, ai corpi sudati, al desiderio di non morire." Questo libro, alla soglia del quarantennale del 1977, non è l'ennesima storia sul punk, eppure contiene e fa un sacco di storie. Anzi, si diverte ad accumulare brandelli di storie, di testi, di analisi, giocando con vari stili e registri. D'altronde, perché mai avere in testa uno schema definitivo (e ideologico) quando il punk ha cercato di negare ogni struttura culturale? In questo libro, si passa così, in ordine sparso, da un breve excursus sui Crass, leggendario gruppo anarcopunk e pacifista, ad alcuni accenni critici sulla violenza rivoluzionaria; da un tentativo d'inquadrare storicamente il "rumore creativo"ad una breve e sarcastica investigazione sulla gestione della merda nel mondo Occidentale (il nome GG Allin vi dice forse qualcosa?). E ci trovate ancora: recensioni inattuali, una carrellata sull'anarchia, note sul rumorismo contemporaneo, impeti d'amore, poeti punk ante litteram, disquisizioni in un odioso e finto stile post-strutturalista, e molto altro ancora. Insomma, ce n'è abbastanza per farvi odiare autore ed editore. Ma l'effetto è voluto. La prima pietra è scagliata.

Brossura originale con segni del tempo, ingiallimento delle pagine, legatura debole, nessuna sottolineatura peraltro esemplare vissuto ma genuino nella sua forma editorial. Raro.
