Akaito. Archeologi e antropologi all'ombra del Sol Levante
ill., br.

Morin Edgar
I fratricidi. Jugoslavia Bosnia 1991-1995. Nuova ediz.
br.

Scandurra Giuseppe
Ibridi ferraresi. L'antropologia in una città senza antropologi
br.

Autori: Georges Lapassade. Curatori: Gianni De Martino.

Fabian Johannes

Duranti Alessandro; Donzelli Aurora (cur.)
Antropologia del linguaggio. Nuova ediz.
br.

Autori: Dario Agostinetto, Beatrice Del Monte, Mara Misiti. Prefazione: Paola Rebughini, Samuele Strati.

Dimensions of Anthropology : a Prismatic Panorama [Hardcover]
ABOUT THE BOOK:- Anthropology is the study of man in a holistic way. One fundamental necessity of anthropological research is the exercise to keep the studies out of any bias or pre-conceived, value- loaded thought, which in turn calls for a rigid exclusion of value judgements. Chemist devotes himself or herself to the understanding of the elements and analyses their behavior in relation to each other at the laboratory, similarly, an anthropologist observes, describe and analyses the contextual situation in the field which is considered as his laboratory. Initially anthropologists devoted their cornerstone to ethnography. Ethnographic study is the base line studies and thereafter by churning and amassing ethnographic data, problem oriented or focused results can be achieved. The present volume is fully concentrated on author’s various empirical studies carried out byAnthropological Survey of India for the last 35 years since 1977. The varied dimensions of anthropological research works are taken into consideration for the present volume. It tries to make a total picture by presenting three viewpoints—the framework of the Lepcha society, the impact of the culture on the people, and the individuals who were the product of that culture and society. It describes in detail their homes, food habits, rules of kinship, and marriage, sex life, socio-religious rituals, and their relations with environment, foreigners, other Lepchas and the supernatural. A discussion on social evolution and aggression also find place in the book. Various disciplines—anthropological, psychological, functional and Freudian—have been employed to meet this purpose. Ethel St. Clair Grim Wood
My Three Years in Manipur [Hardcover]
Memoirs and private diarie of spouses of important leaders, statesmen, diplomats and civil servants have a significance of their own in the history of mankind. The account of Ethel St. Clair Grimwood, wife of Frank Grimwood, the ill fated Political Agent of Manipur during the close of the lase century, is the one that writes with imagination and records certain facts and observations that go a long way in promoting a clear understanding of the area covered.
