2019New French Paperback. Demy 8vo. (21 x 14 cm). In French. 264 p. L'Immigration Judéo-Espagnole à Buenos-Aires: Histoire d'une commuunauté invisible, (1876-1930). History of the emigration of the Sephardis to Buenos Aires (Argentina), 1876-1930.

L.A.S., Péra-lez-Constantinople [quartier d'Istanbul aujourd'hui], 25 prairial an 5 [13 juin 1797], 2p in-4. [69-2]

2008New English Paperback. Pbo. 4to. (32 x 17 cm). Color and b/w ills. In Turkish and English. This project testifies to a historic Jewish community of vibrancy and dynamism that once dotted Turkey. Dating back to Roman and Byzantine times, Jews thrived on Turkish soil, finding refuge in the tens of thousands after their expulsions from Spain, Portugal, and Italy in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. Joel Zack and his team have performed an important cultural service, retrieving for posterity rich testimony of the Jewish architectural heritage in Ottoman and modern Turkish History.

2000New New English Original bdg. Dust wrapper. 4to. (29 x 24 cm9. In English. 2 volumes set: (678 p.), richly ills., photos. A history of Robert College: The American College for Girls and Bogaziçi University (Bosphorus University). This two volume slipcased set is the story of two American Schools in Istanbul – Robert College and American College for Girls- both of them founded in the third quarter of the nineteenth century. The story takes the two schools through the last half-century of the Ottoman Empire and the first half-century of the Turkish Republic. The last part of the book tells the story of the founding of Bogazici University on the campus of the old Robert College in Bebek-Rumeli Hisarý , and the establishment of the new co-educational Robert College on the campus of the old American College for Girls in Arnavutköy. The principal characters in the story are the men and women who worked at the two colleges as teachers and administrators, and the students who studied there, many of them going on to distinguished careers, including two prime ministers of Turkey and two of Bulgaria. Bogazici University and the new Robert College, both founded in 1971, continued a tradition that has now linked east and west for over a century, perpetuating bonds of culture and friendship that have endured through wars and the fall and rise of nations. Hundreds of photographs in each volume visually trace the history of these two venerable institutions. A very heavy and oversize set.

2009New English Paperback. Pbo. Roy. 8vo. (23 x 16 cm). In English. 593 p. "During the 38 years of its existence Bosphorus University has perpetuated the cultural traditions it inherited from Robert College, and it is generally considered to be one of the top undergraduate institutions in the world, with outstanding graduate programs in most fields other than medicine and law. Though it is a Turkish state university, the language of instruction in almost all courses is English; the majority of its faculty have doctorates from American universities and most of its outstanding students go on to do graduate studies at universities in the U. S. Our students come from every province of Turkey and from more than sixty other countries, for Bosphorus University is a cultural beacon that shines across national boundaries and internal political divisions, distinguished by the diversity of its student body and faculty and its tolerance of ethnic, religious, and cultural differences. And so my book will examine the ways in which Robert College and Bosphorus and Bosphorus University have been a bridge of culture between what orientalists have called East and West.

1966258 pages. "On the adbication of Nicholas II Russia's new rulers found themselves confronted by a host of problems, two of which were particularly urgent. What was to be the new government's relationship to its rival in power, the Petrograd Soviet, and what was to be its position on the war and on the aims for which Russia was fighting? To a large degree the answer to the first question depended on the Provisional Government's response to the second. This in turn depended on a third: how did the Tsar's successors conceive of Russia's role and place in Europe? Expressed in the terms of 1917, should the nation still struggle for Constantinople and the reassertion of Russian preponderance in the Balkans? Or should the Russian people fight now only in defense of the revolution and for the democratic principles it proclaimed?" - from Abstract.
