Perhaps published by Ebony Magazine as a promotion for their Ebony Fashion Fair. The flyer does mention "Ebony Super-Star Models" but the actual magazine or the name "Ebony Fashion Fair" does not appear on this flyer leading us to wonder if this was some competing fashion fair that was launched. A flyer for a one day fashion show dance and carnival held at the Hotel DiPLOMAT in New York presumably in the 1960s. The flyer touts models from Jamaica Trinidad Puerto Rico China Africa Barbados Nassau and South America. Over 100 original designs were featured and prizes were awarded for "the freakiest outfit." A large photo of a model featured on the left side of the page. The reverse is a call for female and male models wanted for the Miss Ebony International Fashion Show with some illustrations of models and an entry form at the bottom. The Ebony Fashion Fair if this flyer is associated with it was founded in 1958 by Eunice Johnson of the Johnson Publishing Company. The fair raised money for African American charities and was responsible for founding a cosmetic line for people of color after meeting resistance from the major cosmetic companies. GOOD condition. Heavy toning along the bottom portion with otherwise minor general toning. Two horizontal fold creases present. No publisher unknown

George Bywater Cluett 1838-1912 and Frederick Forrest Peabody 1858-1927 were pioneers in the shirt & replaceable collar industry in Troy NY who created the iconic Arrow brand detachable Collars and shirts. They formed their company from Cluett & Sons to Cluett Peabody & Co. in 1899 and rapidly grew their business by providing women with an easier way to clean their husbands’ stained shirt collars without having to wash the entire shirt. In addition the collars wore out a much faster rate than the rest of the shirts so these replaceable collars would extend the life of the garments. Monarch shirts were famed for their durability and patented their Patent Bound Bosom Shirt which became known to consumers across the country as the Monarch Shirt. In 1905 the company launched the iconic campaign for Arrow Shirts with the famed illustrations by Joseph Leyendecker which ran for over 25 years. Various Cluett divisions maintained offices and showrooms in New York through 2002 and then in 2004 the Arrow Shirt brand was acquired by Phillips-Van Heusen Corp.
