Registers and memoirs of Keppe, Karen, (1876-1935) was a Danish missionary and social worker, known for her work aid worker with Ottoman Armenian refugees and survivals of the Armenian Genocide, mainly widows and orphans, from 1903 until her death in Syria in 1935 (Near East Relief). She was a member of Johannes Lepsius's Deutsch Orient-Mission (German Orient Mission) and assumed responsibility (in 1903) for the Armenian children in the Millet Khan German Refugee Orphanage after the 1895 Urfa massacres. In Aleppo, today in the Syrian territory, various relief organizations such as orphanages, hospitals, vocational schools were established for the Armenians coming into the region due to tehcir. The social and economic welfare activities undertaken by the Ottoman administrators in the region were launched and conducted as of the very first days of the World War I. After the war various relief organizations engaged in certain activities in the region as well. One such an organization was the Near East Relief Foundation. The activities launched by the foundation were led by Karen JEPPE, a Danish philanthropist and a Commissioner at the League of Nations. Our study embodies the narratives of 1184 people whom the Near East Relief Foundation helped in the period given. (Although Karen Jeppe claims to have had rescued 1700 people, some of the records are not found in the League of Nations Archives in Geneva). The information taking place in the records found at the League of Nations Archives not only contains the names of the people, their parents' names, hometowns, ages, and their acceptance to the relief foundation, but the stories they lived throughout the period after the relocations.

The reflections of the humanitarian crisis in Syria since 2011 have been experienced all over the world in different ways. In this sense, Turkey¿s experience has gathered a lot of attention as well. Thanks to its open door policy, Turkey has become the country hosting the highest number of refugees in the world and has created a living space for millions of Syrians. According to official figures, Turkey hosts 2,724,927 Syrians and thus takes the burden of the humanitarian crisis on its shoulders. Each Syrian is important for Turkey, as is their adaptation to Turkish public life. The most crucial elements of orientation towards public life are education and employment. With respect to employment, Turkey has taken considerable steps. In addition to this, the education of Syrian children requires a road map so as not to create lost generations for the future of Turkey and Syria. The NGOs in Turkey have taken great responsibility for the education of Syrians and play an important role in offering advice for the Ministry of National Education¿s (MEB) road map. However, only one in three Syrian children is schooled ¿ this is evidence that the NGO-based short-term solutions are not enough and long-term public policymaking is required. From the first years of the crisis in Syria, the SETA Foundation has been supporting the policymaking process especially in terms of educating Syrians, aiding their legal status and their adaptation to public life. The SETA Foundation is especially sensitive on the issue of Syrians¿ education and in this study aims to contribute to developing a road map on Syrians¿ education and to work against the creation of lost generations.

This is a historical, political and legal study of the Shan al-Arab dispute between the government of Iran and the Republic of Iraq, a dispute which has not received the international attention it deserves, while it is a perpetual threat to peace in this area of the Middle East. The Iranian government claims that the Shaft al- Arab is a border ever between the two states and, being a navigable river, it should be divided between Iraq and Iran according to the Thalweg line. This claim has always been unacceptable to Iraq, and not in accordance its the historical facts. Dr Khalid al- Izzi has attempted to study this dispute as objectively s possible, relying upon Iraqi as well as Iranian sources. As a lawyer, the author hopes that his work may help in solving this dis-ute which has for so long marred relations between these two Islamic countries.
