2005ref. 1924NY: Pantheon 2005. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine/Fine. The book itself isn't signed but laid in is a brief autographed note signed ALS on Dobbs's personal stationary: "Jeff good talking with you. Enjoy the diving and the reefs and take a peek for me. I've still not been to . Till next time David Dobbs." Dobbs is a freelance science writer for high-profiled magazines and this book looks a the long-running argument between Darwin and Alexander Agassiz the son of Louis Agassiz over the formation of coral. Darwin was right of course but Agassiz pushed oceanography forward substantially as he traveled the world studying coral. An interesting book on the evolution of science and the history of evolution. Near fine with a little rubbing to spine tail otherwise crisp and tight. In a fine jacket. Pantheon hardcover
