Cardiff Wales: Hartswood Films 1998. An archive of 11 scripts for the complete 7 episode British television miniseries "Wonderful You." Copies belonging to make-up artist Teresa Kelly with her holograph name and annotations throughout in highlighter and ink. Included in the listing are Archive also includes 20 pages of call sheets and shooting schedules with Kelly's holograph annotations. Almost certainly begun as an attempt to at least in part mimic the early success of the long-running sitcom "Friends" "Wonderful You" follows a group of thirty-something aged friends in London as they navigate their convoluted interpersonal relationships. Unlike "Friends" however in which all the main characters start out as single and slowly acquire partners "Wonderful You" contains a number of different states of romantic relationships right from the beginning including a few single people a successful couple in a long term relationship a gay couple and an unhappily married couple with a young son. Though "Friends" may be considered one of the more successful sitcoms of the late 1990s and certainly one of the longest-running "Wonderful You" instead makes a much more succinct and arguably much less saccharine statement about the nature of relationships themselves. Shot on location in London. Scripts all housed in tall white self wrappers as issued some unbound sheets and some prong bound. One script then further housed in a red spring binder. All have credits for screenwriters Niel and Lumsden. Title page integral with the front wrappers. Mechanical duplication some with pink blue or yellow revision pages. Very Good plus condition or better. Complete collation details available upon request. Hartswood Films unknown
Louis Lipson 1941 Second Revised Edition Stated I've had this book so long I've avoided listing it simply because it is so strange. I believe it came from an estate in Santa Barbara California and must have once belonged to Danny Kaye the famous Hollywood actor. The book starting at page one has penciled text in an accounting manner as if one were calculating one's net worth or costs involved. The numbers are rather large. Page three also penciled in over the text are the words or lyrics to Gilbert and Sullivan's Modern Major General. Which is a movie made by Danny Kaye. Page 5 is penciled over with more accounting and names and details about jewelry etc. Page 7 hase some misc. scribbles and notes remember these are all penciled in over the text of the book as if the book were a writing pad. Page 9 has anothe accounting list and a sort of poetry about pain. Page 11 continues in between the lines of the text with more poetry and continues on into page 12. Page 13 has more accounting some of which is hard to read. Page 15 reads: Claim Genie didn't fill out correct form 1040 100000000 worksite strike goons band in Jewelry store 500000. Then the poetry begins again on page 21 their sort of a ranting "You're a regular wreck with a crick in your neck and no wonder you snore for your heads on the floor and you're needles and pins from your soles to your shins your flesh is a creep and your left legs asleep you've a cramp in your toe and a fly in your nose. There's some fluff in your lung and a feverish tongue and a thirst thats intense and a general sense that you haven't been sleeping in clover darkness has passed and its daylight at last the night has been long ditto ditto my song and thank goodness they're both of them over." Page 23 is more accounting with goons band in van well black stuff bat at vases. I must say it doesn't make a lot of sence. Page 25 says black stuff from well 50000. Page 26 looks as if it was grafittied by someone else in blue pen. Page 27 has another more intense list of accounting details and then was crossed out and revised several times. Nothing again till page 37 with some light scribbled notes page 43 and 47 have these same light notes that are hard to decipher. Then page has some harsh words / obsenities about Motif. Page 65 has more accounting notes about pool boys carnations jewelry. Page 66 has some more notes upside down. Then the rest of the book is un marked. 95 pages. All of this strange text is written over an exciting book about fashion design and costuming with lessons for illustrating fashion from head to toe. Especially featured is fashions and styles of the 1940s there is a large frontice photo of Lipson. I have no way of knowing if this is infact Danny Kaye's book but it looks to me like he was making notes about financing something. figuring out what kind of money. There some detailed poetry most likely original. Some one who know's more about Kaye may find this to be very very very intriquing. Weird or wonderful. you decide.
