Ends with 'Zounds zoundings A noise of celebration'. Unattributed but the work of Mrs S. Bridger folklorist of Alciston and Tunbridge Wells and from her collection. It combines traditional tools of literary criticism with more modern techniques taken especially from narratology and intertextuality. On the intertextual level it examines the narratives' complex relationship with Virgil Livy and Ovid's own earlier works. Recent criticism on the Fasti has addressed various elements religious historical political astronomical etc. but detailed narrative study has been wanting. brossura Ci sono buchi in Sardegna che sono case di fate, morti che sono colpa di donne vampiro, fumi sacri che curano i cattivi sogni e acque segrete dove la luna specchiandosi rivela il futuro e i suoi inganni. Ci sono statue di antichi guerrieri alti come nessun sardo è stato mai, truci culti di santi che i papi si sono scordati di canonizzare, porte di pietra che si aprono su mondi ormai scomparsi, e mari di grano lontani dal mare, costellati di menhir contro i quali le promesse spose strusciano impudicamente il ventre nel segreto della notte, vegliate da madri e nonne. C'è una Sardegna come questa, o davanti ai camini si racconta che ci sia, che poi è la stessa cosa, perché in una terra dove il silenzio è ancora il dialetto più parlato, le parole sono luoghi più dei luoghi stessi, e generano mondi. Un'isola delle storie che va visitata così: attraverso percorsi di parole che disegnino i profili dei luoghi, diano loro una forma al di là delle pietre lise, li rendano ricordo condiviso e infine aiutino a dimenticarli, perché non corrano il rischio di restare dentro e prenderne il posto. Questa storia è un viaggio in compagnia di dieci parole, dieci concetti alla ricerca di altrettanti luoghi, più uno. Undici mete, perché i numeri tondi si addicono solo alle cose che possono essere capite definitivamente. Non è così la Sardegna, dove ogni spazio apparentemente conquistato nasconde un oltre che non si fa mai cogliere immediatamente, conservando la misteriosa verginità delle cose solo sfiorate.
