Makfil, célèbre brigand, veut éprouver Patrice. Il est converti par le saint, se jette dans une barque sans gouvernail, va aborder à l'île de Mona, devient prêtre, évêque et Saint. Patrice triomphe des enchantements des druides, et convertit les deux filles du roi au bord de la fontaine de Klébah. Le roi Laégaïr persécute les nouveaux chrétiens. Fête du Feu nouveau à Tara.
