Brown leather over bevelled boards with a gilded spine and gilded decorations / titling on the front board. Some rather nice blind stampings on the corners and centered on both front and back boards. The spine has been repaired professionally with a linen backing visible at the crown. The spine leather itself is rubbed and faded though quite readable. Board corners are rubbed and worn. The text block is mildly shaken with one of the signatures in the centre of the block sitting proud though 'tis not loose. All text block edges are gilt and still quite bright. Previous owner's gift inscription dated 1877 on the verso of the front free end paper. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. .
