He created illustrations for Grimm's Fairy Tales and Marie von Ebner Eschenbach's "Hirzepinzchen" and experienced a particularly creative period during the five years he lived in the Swiss town of Gottlieben from 1901 to 1906. - Some small ink spots; small crease near right margin. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Specialized in fairy-tale themes, Werenskiold illustrated the "Norske Folkeeventy", a popular collection of folk tales, in 1879, as well as a luxury edition of Snorri Sturluson's legends, and decorated the interior of Fridtjof Nansen's villa in Lysaker with fairy tale motifs. Mein Domizil ist Dresden. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau: "Mit bestem Gruss [...]". - A prominent landscape painter of the Düsseldorf School, von Wille advanced to an expert in depicting the Eifel region, where he spent the summer months from 1885 onwards. He lived in Kerpen castle from 1911 and was deemed the principal painter of the region even in his lifetime, his works improving the reputation of the Eifel and showing off some of its characteristic geological features. - Traces of a horizontal fold; left margin a little worn. Bitte lassen Sie mir [!] doch wissen, wie Sie zu meiner Adresse gekommen sind [...]". - Having his studies interrupted by the Franco-Prussian War, Zschimmer first succeeded as an artist in 1872 when he received an award for his painting "Im Hochwalde". He was a drawing teacher in Weimar from 1875 and moved to Bad Schmiedeberg in 1891, where over the following years he created countless paintings of the Düben Heath. - Some small ink spots.
