Les textes latins ne sont pas traduits, mais précédés à chaque fois d'une présentation historique et bibliographique.Exemplaire de bonne provenance, portant au premier plat la mention suivante gravée en lettres d'or : "Faculté de Droit de Bordeaux Concours 1890-1891 3me Année Droit Civil 1er Prix Mr Ferradou André, né à la Mothe-St-Héraye (Deux-Sèvres) le 24 janvier 1872. Le professeur André Ferradou (1872-1945) fut l'élève de Paul Vigneaux et du spécialiste du droit byzantin Henri Monnier. Sa brillante thèse sur les "Biens des monastères à Byzance" lui ouvrit la voie à un succès à l'agrégation de 1898. Il enseigna à Rennes, Toulouse puis Bordeaux, où il enseigna le droit public pendant plus de 30 ans à la Faculté de Bordeaux, et y approfondit notamment le problème de la féodalité au XVIIIe siècle. France Girault maintains tried both in its long imperial history often at the same time.
