An die Schauspielerin Blum: "Wie Sie wünschen, daß Ihr Serafin noch diesen Monat Statt haben soll, so kann dieses nur in der ersten Hälfte des laufenden Monats geschehen - wozu es also unumgänglich nöthig ist, daß Sie mir ungesäumt das Stück anzeigen, welches Sie zu geben gedenken [...]". - Der aus Krakau stammende Künstler debütierte im Wiener Theater in der Josefstadt als Schauspieler, ging dann nach München und wurde dort Direktor des Theaters am Isartor. "1826 nach Wien zurückgekehrt, pachtete er das Theater an der Wien, für das er u. a. den Komiker Wenzel Scholz und als Autor Johann Nepomuk Nestroy gewann. Nachdem er 1845 die Leitung des Theaters an der Wien abgegeben hatte, zog er in die Leopoldstadt. Das dortige Theater, das er bereits 1838 erworben hatte, ließ er 1847 neu errichten und führte es unter dem Namen Carl-Theater weiter. Als Schauspieler prägte er die Wiener Hanswurst-Figur des 'Staberl'" (DBE). - Etwas gebräunt und angestaubt und mit einem kleinen Ausriß auf Bl. 2 durch Siegelbruch; in altem Sammlungsumschlag.

An den Bezirks-Hauptkommissär Hertl: "Hast Du den morgigen Abend frei und weißt Du ihn nicht besser zu tötdten so mache mir das Vergnügen, im Zirkel meiner Familie einer kleinen Abendunterhaltung [...] beizuwohnen [...]". - Der aus Krakau stammende Künstler debütierte im Wiener Theater in der Josefstadt als Schauspieler, ging dann nach München und wurde dort Direktor des Theaters am Isartor. "1826 nach Wien zurückgekehrt, pachtete er das Theater an der Wien, für das er u. a. den Komiker Wenzel Scholz und als Autor Johann Nepomuk Nestroy gewann. Nachdem er 1845 die Leitung des Theaters an der Wien abgegeben hatte, zog er in die Leopoldstadt. Das dortige Theater, das er bereits 1838 erworben hatte, ließ er 1847 neu errichten und führte es unter dem Namen Carl-Theater weiter. 3 SS. auf Doppelblatt. Gr.-4to. Mit eh. Adresse (Faltbrief). An den Sänger Ludwig Cramolini (1805-1884) in Darmstadt: "Der dramatische Schriftsteller Herr Fried. Kaiser [1814-1874] hat mich, unter Behändigung Ihres Gastrollen-Repertoirs von Ihrem Wunsche, sich hier in Wien zu fixieren verständigt und ich erlaube mir daher an Euer Wohlgeboren die Anfrage zu stellen, ob Sie geneigt wären an meiner Bühne ein Engagement anzutreten. In dem Falle daß Sie damit einverstanden seyen ersuche ich [...] mir umgehend Ihre Bedingnisse und die Zeit bis wann Sie ein Engagement an meiner Bühne anzutreten in der Lage sind bekannt geben zu wollen. Opern sind an meiner Bühne nicht gang und gebe wohl aber Vaudevilles und dann und wann kleine Lieder-Spiele; das Repertoire meiner Bühne bilden Lust- und Schauspiele, Possen, Volksstücke und Lokal-Possen mit Gesang. Ich wäre ganz damit einverstanden, wenn Sie vorziehen sollten dem Engagement ein Gastspiel vorangehen zu lassen, doch jedenfalls in der Art, daß sie, nachdem E. W. in Ihrem Gastspiele - woran wohl nicht entfernt zu zweifeln ist - meinen Erwartungen entsprechen, an den zwischen uns schon vorher abzuschließenden Vertrag gebunden sind [...]". - Weiter mit Honorar- und Repertoirevorschlägen. - Carl kam 1826 samt Ensemble von München nach Wien, wo er zunächst das Theater an der Wien mietete. 1838 kaufte er das Leopoldstädter Theater, renoviert es und nannte es 1847 Carltheater. Hier erlebten viele Stücke des Alt-Wiener Volkstheaters von Johann Nepomuk Nestroy ihre Uraufführung. In den Jahren 1854 bis 1860 war Nestroy Direktor des Theaters. - Kleinere Papierschäden und etwas gebräunt.

In dieser Zeit begann auch seine rege Tätigkeit als Filmschauspieler; er wirkte in etwa 350 Produktionen mit, u. a. zusammen mit Hans Moser und Paul Hörbiger" (DBE).
