These are 10 reproductions of very realistic hand-drawn views in pencil and charcoal possibly made after reconnaissance photographs but most likely drawn in-situ by the military artist Commander Bonnefoy who has signed each drawing. Each view is accompanied by extended legend printed in letterpress at bottom and with place names and topographic points of reference indicated with arrows. These beautiful views are reproduced here in collotype one of the most accurate and attractive methods of photomechanical tonal printing processes. Highly skilled and expensive process it cannot produce more than a limited number of impressions.
