Doch ersuche ich Sie jetzt freundlichst, da ich noch einige Veränderungen an meinen Liedern vornehmen will, mir dieselben durch Ueberbringer freundlichst zukommen zu lassen [...]". - Albert Kaunders war seit 1882 als Musikredakteur und Kritiker bei verschiedenen Wiener Zeitungen tätig und verfaßte Prosatexte sowie die Libretti zu seinen beiden, in der Wagner-Nachfolge komponierten Romantischen Opern "Der Schatz des Rhampsinit" (1887) und "Walther von der Vogelweide" (1895). 1912 starb er in geistiger Umnachtung. - Etwas angestaubt und fleckig und mit kleinen Randläsuren.

Nachdem ich vor einigen Wochen von einem Herrn Navratil, 'Critiker u. Componist' in Krc bei Prag, wie er sich nennt, einen dringenden, flehenden Brief mit der Bitte um Unterstützung erhalten, er schildert mir sein Elend dem Smetana's ähnlich, schickte ich demselben in einem eingeschriebenen Briefe eine Summe von 15 Mk. Da ich nun seither, es sind bald 3 Wochen, keine Antwort mehr erhalten, so möchte ich bei Ihnen anfragen, ob es wirklich einen solchen, leidenden u. armen Musiker dort giebt. Ist das der Fall, so bin ich ganz zufrieden, nur wäre es mir leid, wenn ich einer Täuschung anheimgefallen wäre [...]". - Der Prager Komponist und Violinist Karel Navratil (1867-1936), Schüler von František Ondrícek, schrieb u. a. die Oper "Hermann und Salambo" und verfasste eine Biographie Smetanas. Emil Kauffmann war Universitätsmusikdirektor in Tübingen und komponierte über 64 Lieder.

Nach dessen von den Nationalsozialisten erzwungener Auflösung wurde Kaufmann Mitglied der Wiener Symphoniker und wirkte hier bis 1966 als Stimmführer der zweiten Geigen. Daneben machte er sich als Komponist zahlreicher Orchesterwerke - darunter vier Symphonien, Kammermusik sowie Konzerte für Soloinstrumente und Orchester - einen Namen. 1950 und 1966 wurde er mit dem Österreichischen Staatspreis für Musik ausgezeichnet. - Mit Adreßstempel.

Haslinger 1875 übernommen hatte, verpflichtet sich Kaulich, seine sämtlichen Kompositionen nur an Lienau zu geben, was aber schließlich den Verlag, der einst so erfolgreich mit den Werken der Familie Strauss war, auch nicht mehr retten konnte: War es Carl Haslinger (1816-1868) noch gelungen, Johann Strauß Sohn und dessen Bruder Josef an sich zu binden, so sollten doch die Werke des jungen Johann Strauß nur mehr bis op. 278 erscheinen, und “es ist nicht bekannt, warum er und sein Bruder dann zu C.A. Spina hinüberwechselten. Zum Unglück für Haslinger leitete das op. 279, der ‘Morgenblätterwalzer’ von Strauss, dessen Meisterwerke ein, die also endgültig an die Konkurrenz verloren gingen. Aber schon erstand in C.M. Ziehrer ein neuer Stern am Himmel der Tanzmusik, seine Werke erschienen bis op. 209, dann schloß sich noch Josef Kaulich an [...]” (MGGV, 1767, Art. Haslinger). - Mit hs. In den handschriftlichen abgefaßten Verlags-Scheinen überläßt der Komponist der Hofmusikalienhandlung Carl Haslinger die Rechte an verschiedenen Kompositionen (Walzer, Polkas, Quadrillen, Märsche etc.) und quittiert zugleich den Empfang der vereinbarten Honorare. - Wenige Jahre später sollte sich der Komponist verpflichten, sämtliche seiner Werke dem neuen Verlagsinhaber des renommierten Hauses Robert E. 1 S. auf Doppelblatt. 8vo. “[...] leider musste ich den Ballabend der Stadt Wien absagen, da ich dienstlich verhindert bin, demselben beizuwohnen [...]”. - Die Tochter des Dirigenten Josef Kaulich studierte Gesang bei Mathilde Marchesi di Castrone am Wiener Konservatorium und wurde 1876 an die Wiener Hofoper verpflichtet, wo sie seit 1878 große Partien sang und zu den meistbeschäftigten Künstlern dieses Hauses gehörte. Ihre größten Erfolge erzielte sie als Hexe in ‘Hänsel und Gretel’ sowie als Marthe im ‘Faust’, als Fides im ‘Propheten’ und als Lucia in der ‘Cavalleria rusticana’. 1906 gab sie als Quickly in ‘Falstaff’ ihren Abschied von der Opernbühne, trat als Konzert- und Oratoriensängerin jedoch noch bis 1911 auf. - In altem Sammlungsumschlag.
