Testo e descrizione dei modelli raffigurati, in francese, inglese e tedesco. Rara e affascinante rivista di moda francese. In questo numero - inverno 1936/1937: “the model collections for autumn and winter are held in a great variety of styles with an avalanche of interesting details to note. There are widened shoulders, fuller skirts, belts placed higher or lower following the line of the figure. Handsome reminiscences of the fashions of the Second Empire and of 1830 are to be noted. Peplums and casaques have come-again...”. Così si legge nella Prefazione. Rare e lieviss. fiorit. marginali, altrimenti esemplare ben conservato, su carta distinta.

1927Legatura amatoriale in mezza tela con angoli, piatti in percallina, volume manoscritto a china su carta millimetrata riquadrata con fregi. La data si evince da una scritta a matita alla prima carta bianca. Il manuale offre un'ampia rassegna sulle modalità di tessitura di svariati tipi di tessuto: pekin, doppia faccia, piquet, tessuto doppio, imbottito, damasco, polonese, lancé, spolinato, tappeto persiano, taffetà, broccatello, gobelin, velluto, ciniglia e garza. Ciascuna tipologia è corredata da annotazioni tecniche sulla disposizione, l'ordito, il tessimento, la messa in carta, la montatura e l'imputaggio, oltre che da centinaia di campioni di tessuto applicati e da schemi di rimettaggio a colori, di cui alcuni ripiegati. Comprende degli studi sul telaio Jacquard accompagnati da alcune schede perforate applicate, un approfondimento sul finissaggio tessile e uno studio sugli "Apparecchi di ricupero". Legatura allentata, solo alcuni campioni di tessuto mancanti.

Group of 10 original costume studies on heavy cardstock mounts ranging in size from about 9.5-by-10.5 inches to 13-by-18 inches in pen-and-ink or grey wash heightened in white. Circa 1930s America. Presumably created by S. C. Cavanagh Ltd. with the firm's name in pencil along the bottom edge of many of the studies. Expertly carried out illustrations of elegant women in long coats or evening jackets pinky fingers held delicately aloft. All cards a little rubbed and smudged along the edges but overall nice and bright suitable for display. A wonderful collection for the classic or vintage stylist. unknown

Collection of beautifully colored pochoir plates depicting elite fashion published originally in La Gazette du Bon Ton between 1920 and 1922. Includes work by Barbier Benito Bonfils Brissaud and many others. Royal octavo: 2 pp. with 100 color plates one two-panel. The red marbled paper-covered boards have been expertly rebacked with the original spine strip laid down. Small indentation to the fore-edge of about a quarter of the plates not affecting the images.
