Per a biography of Dr. Edelstein by Prof. Zvi C. Koren he was "a research chemist inventor industrialist historian and bibliophile." The common interests professions New York residence and Dr. Edelstein's achievements and passion for books may indicate this could have been the reason for the laid in paper slip inviting "will welcome comment." EXCERPT FROM THE DUST JACKET: "'This is My Life' is a true story about a poor eleven year old stow-away boy who emigrated from Russia to America and became a highly respected physician in his community. As the tale unfolds adventures anecdotes travels romance joys and sorrows grip the heart. The author relates how his boyhood sweetheart who became his wife inspired him to give up a prosperous business to study medicine; how years later together they overcame a tragedy to his wife who suffered a stroke and because of his medical training with constant care and treatment she made an excellent recovery. The text describes many interesting patients whom the author has treated in his practice; and the changes and trends in medicine and attitudes during the past fifty-three years. .
