Luciano Galassi torna a cimentarsi con la lingua napoletana e le sue variegate sfaccettature, questa volta prendendo in analisi un altro aspetto tradizionale della cultura popolare: le ninne nanne. In esse si ritrovano infatti elementi religiosi, antiche influenze pagane, riferimenti locali e reminescenze storiche, elementi questi che le rendono tracce imprescindibili per la comprensione della più autentica tradizione napoletana. In particolare, poi, si evidenziano qui l'esigenza di un contatto col mondo tipico dei bambini ed il riflesso dei bisogni e dell'universo emotivo di chi li accudisce. La grotta dei serpenti tra medicina e folclore
br. Nel dizionario dei luoghi comuni, Gustave Flaubert annotava che «le caverne sono sempre piene di serpenti» e i serpenti «sono tutti velenosi»! A Roma, nel Seicento, si diffondono notizie di guarigioni dovute a sospette pratiche terapeutiche che si svolgevano in una cavità termale presso Sasso (Cerveteri). Bisce buone risanano i malati, escono dai cunicoli e leccano il sudore, asciugando la pelle dei malati. Inizia una lunga tradizione a stampa che giustifica il fenomeno e si richiama all'incubatio dell'isola Tiberina, all'uso dell'oppio, al re dei serpenti, registrando l'invidia dei medici locali, che bruciano il sottobosco per eliminare le bisce. Più tardi prevale lo scetticismo e la tradizione popolare è ridicolizzata. Riferimenti colti si innestano su un vasto tessuto di credenze folcloriche relative alle virtù del serpente e della grotta: il mondo sotterraneo è da sempre popolato di ianare, di draghi, di creature fantastiche, di tesori nascosti...
