A picture of this book is available upon request by email The author, who mentions his meeting with Charles Waterton in England where he received his education, travelled widely in Venezuela, describing nature, the peoples, customs, etc. The plates include a jaguar, view of Caracas, scenes with horses, etc. Welch 257 (citing the 2nd edition). Sabin 58140. There were various later printings, some under different titles, but the later editions had fewer or no plates.

La relation de ce voyage entrepris sur ordre de Napoléon III contient d’importants et intéressants renseignements sur le commerce des chevaux entre l’Inde et l’Arabie et sur les chevaux des écuries royales d’Abdallah, pacha de Ryad.
