SUMMARY: This collection of letters between Maria von Wedemeyer and Dietrich Bonhoeffer was written while he was in prison following his part in a plot to assassinate Hitler. Bonhoeffer was eventually to be executed. A few of the letters are written by Dietrich himself. They show his passionate and romantic side which has always been shielded by his public image. He had said earlier in his life that he would not live beyond 37. It was in fact at the age of 37 that he met Maria and fell hopelessly in love with her. Ritroviamo un po' di Jane Austen e un po' di Sally Rooney nel racconto di Marta, che parla d'amore senza mai dimenticarsi della realtà, dove, mentre ondeggiano tra lacrime e sorrisi, i personaggi si abbandonano a profonde riflessioni e a coinvolgenti momenti di autoanalisi. Ne La moglie del Procuratore, originariamente incluso in questa raccolta e ripubblicato in volume a se stante nel 2015, è Claudia, la moglie di Pilato, a raccontare i fatti sconvolgenti che seguirono la morte di Gesù. In questi racconti invece emergono figure e vicende che stanno accanto a quelle centrali nei Vangeli: la suocera di Pietro, il centurione Marco, gli apostoli in cerca dell'uomo che ospiterà il Signore e i suoi per l'Ultima cena, le guardie fuori dal sepolcro dopo la deposizione... Gesù non compare mai, se non in istanti di silenzio che rompono il disordinato clamore circostante: eppure Egli è la grande presenza, il baricentro decisivo intorno al quale ruotano le vicende dei personaggi, come in una grande metafora della storia. Diversi nelle ambientazioni e nelle atmosfere i 15 racconti sono uniti innanzitutto dallo stile di Bontempelli convinto che l'arte del Novecento dovesse essere in grado di esprimere l'"avventuroso miracolo" della vita quotidiana, in una visione in cui erano centrali i concetti di immaginazione, ironia e candore. Se, come scrisse Bontempelli, il mistero è "la sola realtà", attraverso uno sguardo candido, non filtrato cioè da intellettualismi o convenzioni sociali, è possibile pervenire a una comprensione istintiva del mondo, in piena sintonia con la natura. E candidi sono, per gran parte, i protagonisti de "L'amante fedele".

La vita operosa
br. Nella Milano del 1919, dopo la Grande Guerra, niente può essere più come prima. Il protagonista, un letterato che presenta le sembianze dell'autore, è appena rientrato dal fronte e cerca di reinserirsi nella società civile in tutti i modi, attraverso le molteplici occasioni offerte dalla metropoli moderna: industria, edilizia, pubblicità, intrattenimento, persino politica. Per un verso o per l'altro l'intraprendenza operosa del reduce non ha mai riscontro positivo. Nessun personaggio di romanzo ha mai dimostrato maggior spirito di iniziativa o volontà di adeguarsi ai tempi che cambiano: ma neppure tanto candida ingegnosità nel procurarsi gli alibi più efficaci a riprova della propria emarginazione. L'umorismo di Bontempelli scandisce la progressione verso quella che ha tutta l'aria di essere una catastrofe mediante ritmi svelti e lineari, giocando sul contrappunto ironico di una voce narrante dall'ingenuità acuminata. Il disagio della modernità novecentesca è già tutto racchiuso in questo romanzo del 1920, capace di miscelare indagine socioculturale e vero.

Cinici, sarcastici, nervosi, innamorati, inetti, si scontreranno infine con la sconfitta e con l'insuccesso artistico affidando, nell'ultimo surreale racconto, le sorti delle proprie riflessioni alla critica feroce di un eterocefalo.

ril. Se hai dodici anni, giugno è il mese più bello dell'anno. Dome, di questo, è profondamente convinto. Una volta levatosi l'impiccio della scuola, può girare libero per Longuelo - un insolito quartiere alla periferia di Bergamo, dove i palazzoni popolari si specchiano nelle piscine delle mega ville dei dintorni - e divertirsi insieme agli amici, un gruppo di teppisti che si ritrova allo skate park a fare casino. Stavolta, Dome e la sua gang hanno in programma di fare casino per davvero e decidono di lanciarsi nel business dei petardi. Il piano è semplice: comprare i botti, rivenderli e fare il cash. Purtroppo, però, qualcosa va storto e Dome si ritrova costretto a frequentare il CRE, ovvero il centro estivo della parrocchia, popolato solo da noiosi bravi ragazzi. Pian piano, in realtà, si rende conto che quei bravi ragazzi non sono poi tanto male e finisce per farsi incantare dagli occhi verdi di Laura, una ragazzina perbene che non potrebbe essere più diversa da lui. A quel punto, diviso tra lo skate park e l'oratorio, Dome farà di tutto per tenere separati i due mondi, che alla fine entreranno brutalmente in collisione. E giugno esploderà come il più potente dei petardi.

brossura I personaggi della grande letteratura mondiale sono immobili, fissi nel ruolo che gli ha dato l'autore. Per esempio, Ulisse, per quanto ne combini di cotte e di crude e nonostante il numero di avventure che vive, resta sempre Ulisse. Quando apriamo il libro di Ulisse, a un certo punto lo incontreremo sempre alle prese con Polifemo, oppure intento a sterminare i Proci che vogliono sedurgli la moglie. Se per caso, in un libro, lo vediamo occupato, poniamo, a dare la caccia ai salmoni, sappiamo che non si tratta del vero libro di Ulisse, ma di un apocrifo. Che cosa succederebbe se un personaggio celebre, stufo di fare sempre le stesse cose, si ribellasse e intendesse vivere un'altra vita? Succederebbe quello che succede in questo romanzo.
