Tarski here distinguishes between groups of concepts within the methodology of the deductive sciences: 1 concepts such as "axiom" "theorem" "rule of inference" "proof" and 2 "primitive undefined concept" or "primitive term" "definable concept" "rule of definition" "definition". "A far-reaching parallelism can be established between the concepts of the two groups: The primitive concepts correspond to the axioms the defined concepts to the derivable sentences the process and rules of definition to the process and rules of proof." English translation of the article 1956 p. 296. <br><br>Until this article was written nothing on the subject of methodology of deductive sciences had primarily dealt with the concepts of the first group but as Tarski himself states "in considering the second group of concepts many interesting and important problems force themselves upon us some of which are quite analogous to those which arise in connection with the first group." br. II viaggiatore visibile è il lettore, è il narratore. Quando il lettore accetta d'essere viaggiatore coinvolto, scopre nel romanzo un altro tipo di viaggiatore, il narratore, colui che da voce alla storia nella storia, e che si nasconde, si mostra, si trasforma, scompare o riappare. Così può sembrare che la lettura del romanzo dipenda dal modo in cui questi due viaggiatori si riconoscono, e questo in parte è vero, anche se bisogna precisare che perché il gioco della lettura sia possibile occorre che il lettore dia visibilità al narratore, si accorga degli spazi occupati da quella voce, imparando anche a scoprire la prpria presenza nella lettura.

Pp. 305-15. � First translation of Chebyshev's landmark paper first published in Journal of the The St. Petersburg Academy in 1887 in which he laid the foundation for the application of probability theory to statistics generalizing the theorems of Moivre and Laplace. It also generalized the theory of integral beta function. This led him to find an algorithm for finding an optimal solution in a system of linear equations with an approximate solution is known.<br><br>"In the 1860's Chebyshev returned to the theory of probability. One of the reasons for this new interest was perhaps his course of lectures on the subject started in 1860. He devoted only two articles to the theory of probability but they are of great value and designate the beginning of a new period in the development of this field. In the article of 1866 Chebyshev suggested a very wide generalization of the law of large numbers. In 1887 he published without extensive d�monstration a corresponding generalization of the central limit theorem of Moivre and Laplace." In the two-hundred-year development period in probability theory its main achievements were the limiting theorems: the law of large number and the de Moivre-Laplace theorem. The second basic problem that occupied Chebyshev's attention was the central limit theorem.
