This luncheon was "Organised by Foyles Bookshop 125 Charing Cross Road London." "Foyles Luncheons" is printed at the top of the folder. The Chairman was Lieut-General Sir John Glubb. Printed on the folder is a 2pp list of guests. The back of the folder shows a diagram of the "Plan for Top Table" with names of prominent guests arranged around 3 sides: lords counts & countesses an ambassador etc. Laid in also is a ballroom slip signed by the recipient of the book. She does not appear to be listed in the guests list but surely she must have been there possibly as the "guest" of another person with the same last name. However this is a 2nd impression copy. Fine copy in dj with an archivally closed 1 1/2" tear & another 1/2" closed tear. Very light soiling if any to the dj. Not price-clipped.
